DO make your expectations clear

DON'T make the first project the most difficult one

DON'T be vague about when projects are due

Let people know when you need things done, the date and even the time, if that is important to you. If you are giving someone multiple projects, prioritize them so you get your most important ones done first.

DON'T be afraid to ask for status on your projects

If the project is complicated or takes a long time to complete, ask for status reports. You don't want to find out on the due date that someone didn't understand your instructions and the project isn't done.
