Become a Top Wedding Planner - 7 Ideas For Blog Posts

If you are a wedding planner who is new to blogging, you might have trouble coming up with ideas on what to write. Here are seven ideas that will inspire you to write blog posts that will help you attract the clients you want.

#1: Wedding Trends

As a professional in the wedding business, you keep up with trends better than brides usually can. Write about current trends in color, themes, gowns, decor, and floral arrangements. If you have a lot of information, separate each category into different blog posts so you don't overwhelm your reader.

#2: Interview Another Wedding Vendor

Talk to the photographers, florists, caterers, or other vendors in your network and ask them questions a bride might ask. Put the interview on your blog in the form of an audio file, video, or written post. (Make sure you gain permission from the vendor to do so.)

#3: Have a Guest Post

Instead of an interview, have a vendor write a post for you. Preface it with an introduction to your readers telling them why you invited this person to be a guest on your blog.

#4: Post a Photograph or Video

If you have recently planned a wedding, show photographs or a short video of it on your blog and explain what you did. If you feature the bride and groom, make sure you tell them in advance.

#5: Explain "How to..."

Explain to readers how to have a green wedding, how to trim catering costs, etc. Make it short, don't go into too much detail, blog posts are meant to be short.

#6: Talk About an Event You Attended

When you attend an industry event, share ideas you learned about planning weddings that you are going to use. Or, if you attended a wedding or party and saw things you liked or things that could be done differently, blog about it.

#7: Post a Checklist

As a wedding planner you probably naturally make checklists when you need to get things done. Not everyone does this so brides will appreciate your help in getting organized. Write a list, for example, of "5 things a bride absolutely needs in a wedding emergency kit." Or, "7 things to remember when going to get a marriage certificate." Again, keep it short and easy to read.

The information you blog about will tell a bride how knowledgeable you are about your business, help her get to know, like, and trust you and encourage her to contact you to help plan her wedding.
